Saari ja Meri ("island & sea") is a trilingual guide to the Turku archipelago — seasonal articles and an interactive map of ferry terminals, bridges, and cycling routes. A paid business directory is built in, ready to switch on when the region’s businesses are.

Challenge

The archipelago’s practical knowledge — which ferry runs when, which route to cycle, what’s open this season — was scattered across municipal pages, Facebook groups, and PDFs. Visitors needed one trustworthy, up-to-date source in all three local languages.

Solution

A self-owned Payload CMS platform: seasonal articles with a DeepL-assisted FI/SV/EN translation pipeline, an interactive react-leaflet map editable from the admin, plus a business directory and Stripe subscriptions built in and gated behind a single flag until the region is ready.

Result

Live as an archipelago guide, indexing from day one — with the directory ready to switch on. The platform underneath is the model the agency reuses on every project.
